I have more than 30 years experience in running commercial teams, creating sales strategies, recruiting at all levels, leading organisations, P&L responsibility , problem solving and generating results – all with one aim in mind; to create growth that exceeds market norms by improving performance; usually through periods of change.

    Guardian Media Group Radio Division Managing Director North
    2002 - 2013

    - During the last 18 months at Real Radio, I led company through organisational change and generated the largest profit ever in its trading history, up more than 35% across the period (through both double digit cost savings and 9% growth in revenue)

    - Established largest media network of partnership agreements across the whole of Yorkshire

    - Created a product that attracted largest radio audience for radio station during past 6 years

    - Part of main GMG radio group operations team who shaped strategic nature of company

    - Created and recruited a commercial team that outperformed competitor revenues in 10 out of 11years across the radio market place in Yorkshire

    - Generated the highest revenue yield in the Yorkshire commercial radio market, some 26% higher than our nearest competitor.

    - Spearheaded the station to be awarded Investors in People Gold and Champion status, the only media company in Yorkshire at time, and one of only 6 companies to be selected in Yorkshire and Humberside


Qualifications

BA Honours Degree in Economics – Specialising in Industrial and International economics, with a published thesis “Une Nouvelle France Industrielle” reviewing the French economic planning process
