My Philosophy:

As a Birth Doula and Postnatal Doula I fully believe pregnancy and birth can be an amazing, transitional experience, always accompanying you when needed on your journey  to motherhood when needed, I am able to listen fully and support you to find your own way, encourage and be with you, always available to support you emotionally and empowering you to birth freely in your own time. I aim  to fulfill my role and to support you with your transition from womanhood to motherhood and also support your partner or older siblings. I am able to support women who would like a natural birth as well as women who opt for elective caesareans and fully support your birth choices. My role is flexible and your support package can be tailored to suit your families needs, overnight support is also available when required.

I offer Birth and Postnatal Doula Services across the North of England:Greater Manchester-Stockport, High Peak,Tameside, Oldham, Bury, Altrincham and across Cheshire, Merseyside, Yorkshire and beyond.Women have been supported by other women, usually aunts, neighbours, friends, mothers or grandmothers during childbirth and postnatal period for centuries and differing trends throughout the decades saw this type of support wane as a more medicalised birth was introduced as hospital clinics and maternity units increased. I believe women should continue to have access to that one to one support, whether she is a family member, a friend or a professional doula. Expertise

Whole-family support for Pregnancy, Birth, Postnatal period, including early parenitng and breastfeeding support.

My name is Nikki Mather and I am a Birth and Postnatal Doula currently working across North West England. I am conveniently situated on the border of West Yorkshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire so can travel effectively within an hour to many places across the North of England. Being a mum myself of three children ranging from 7 through to 19, I understand the need for good support networks. It was during the pregnancies and early months of my youngest two children that I started researching exactly what pregnancy means to me and the physiology of birth. I was eager to learn more about what exactly it was that made our bodies so amazing.

Birth can be an amazing, transitional experience. With the exciting months you have ahead, you may be thinking about having a doula to help in your transition to motherhood. As a new mum, you may feel worried, excited, anxious, nervous, all at the same time! Doula support in your pregnancy, birth postnatal weeks can be beneficial for you in your journey to discover more about the coming months.
