Summary

I set up Posture Matters in London, January 2005 with the intention of helping people take responsibility for their own health and well being. Using Massage and Reflexology techniques,I provide holistic treatments tailored to the individual, that help to alleviate aches, pains, muscle strains and provide a coping strategy, whereby the person can over time rid themselves of stress and it's far reaching effects. I treat people either at my home based dedicated Therapy Room, or visit their homes or places of work.
Currently living in Lancashire as of January 2011.

Expertise

On-Site Stress Management (Chair Massage).
Thumb, finger, elbow and knuckle pressures are used to stimulate many of the acupressure points on the back, arms, hands, neck, head and legs. These technique helps to stimulate and balance the flow of energy throughout the body. This stimulates the body’s systems, (circulation, muscles, nerves, immune and lymphatic systems) and promotes the release of endorphins (the body’s ‘happy juices’), leaving the client feeling good in a relaxed, but energized way, with a clearly focused frame of mind, and stress free.
The sequence (performed through clothing) lasts no more than 15/20 minutes, which makes this ideal for the busy workplace.

Sports Massage is not just for Sports people.Regular activity, be it physical work or sport causes a buildup of tension in muscles, thereby stressing joints, ligaments and tendons, causing aches, pain, and muscle tears, and restrictions in movement. Sports Massage aids the healing process, and improves range of movement. It is an interactive treatment involving, deep tissue and stretching techniques.

Remedial Massage describes the use of a wide range of assessment and massage techniques to effect a cure in a client. Remedial means to cure.It is aimed at the complaint. It is not a full body therapeutic system.

Deep Tissue massage techniques are used more on a focused area of the body, such as muscle groups or even a specific muscle.Slow, deep pressure breaks down metabolic waste while being relaxing and soothing.

Reflexology works on points of the feet in order to encourage the body’s natural ability to restore balance and promote healing.
It is believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands are linked to other parts of the body. Treatments restore body wide flow of energy, ease tension, improves circulation and elimination of toxins. Reflexology can help acute, chronic or stress related conditions. After a treatment the client usually feels relaxed and more stress free; be pain free; may experience improved sleep and have a greater sense of well being.
Reflexology is a great coping strategy helping to mitigate the stresses and strains of modern day life.

Post treatment recommendations re-lifestyle, training or rehabilitation combine to provide personal service ensuring client gets the maximum benefit from treatments.
All of these treatments require a thorough knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology. I have public liability insurance and a 1st Aid Certificate.
