An experienced UK Police Detective, Howard has had 28 years involvement in all aspects of complex criminal investigation, intelligence and analysis.
He has designed and delivered training and support to over half the UK Police Forces, National and International bodies and the private sector, including personnel and agencies from over 30 countries worldwide.
He helped develop the UK's standard National Intelligence Analysis Training Course, the first 'Criminal Intelligence Analysis' masters degree programme in the world, and established the first library dedicated to Criminal Intelligence Analysis.
Contributor to a number of key international intelligence initiatives, he has been recognized as an international expert on intelligence analysis by the United Nations Drug Control Programme and by the Council of Europe, for whom his work was chosen for inclusion in their crime analysis best practice guide.
Having held many executive positions with key Professional bodies for Intelligence Analysis, Howard was the first person in Europe to achieve the coveted SCCA 'Lifetime Certified Criminal Analyst' award.
He has served with the Intelligence arm of the UK's National Crime Squad, and more recently he established and headed the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Intelligence Unit, responsible for tackling cross-border serious organized crime. Involved in developing the UK's new Organised Crime Group Mapping system, he also served on the ACPO working group on Commercial Cannabis Cultivation, and helped develop partnership working between key law enforcement agencies and the private sector.
Most recently he has taken responsibility for current and 'cold case' undetected Homicides and Major Investigations.
Author, keynote speaker, and visiting lecturer for several academic programmes worldwide, Howard has his own private consultancy (thinkanalysis), offering award-winning bespoke training and consultancy services worldwide.
