A highly motivated senior executive experienced in regional, national and international business to business in public and private sector markets.
I have developed a career encompassing rationalising company structures, economic development, change management and workforce development, incorporating excellent project management, communication and negotiating skills.
From 1988 to January 2001 I was Chief Executive of former Warrington Business Venture and key architect to securing four major European funding bids, creating over 3,000 new jobs within the region and achieving an 85% success rate in the corporate business sector.
In 1997 I was appointed Chief Executive of Business Link Warrington and later also took control of Business Link Vale Royal. From a loss making position, we implemented a strategic corporate restructuring programme and within nine months returned the business into an operating profit of £180,000. Corporate restructuring included a radical review of the quality and delivery of services to the SME sector through Personal Business Advisers, together with establishing a range of new and innovative programmes and audit procedures.
Following the signing of a "Partners in Trade and Investment" agreement by the British and Indian Prime Ministers in 2002, as Chief Executive of Business Link Cheshire & Warrington, I became actively involved with strengthening and improving business co-operation between the two countries. Working closely with UK and Indian Ministers, I became the focal point for sharing and managing business leads from India and promoting best practice between Indian and British SMEs.
I have a network of contacts and consultants in India who can offer guidance and advice on setting up operations in India. Among them are the British Business Group in Pune, Delhi and Mumbai, which includes many businesses who have successfully located operations to India from the UK. I also co-led the development of a 'Green Park' project, commissioned by the State Government of the Punjab, which aimed to transform a heavily polluted industrial area into a model of excellence to be replicated elsewhere in India.
I was Awarded the OBE in 2007 for services to business and have recently completed a Masters degree in culture change management.
I am an active member of the UK India Business Council and have well-established contacts at National and State Government level in India and with senior representatives at the Indian High Commission in London and the British High Commission in Delhi and Mumbai.
