Summary

Pete has 35 years of management experience with a successful track record in achieving challenging business objectives, notably the setting up of new services, opening new offices and growing businesses. He has also been a Director for over 18 years, an SME Managing Director for over 5 years and sat on SME Senior Management Teams & Boards for 15 years.

He now concentrates on providing management coaching, mentoring and consultancy to SME Senior Managers and Directors, particularly those embarking on growth or significant change, where Pete’s experience is particularly relevant in helping to justify an initiative, evaluate options and then plan and control the execution effectively.

Expertise

Pete has worked in consultancy and training organisations since 1987, specialising in change, people and project management, and related competencies such as communication, business planning, sales and marketing. His passion is helping individuals to improve their performance and motivation through understanding their own and their team’s competencies and personal characteristics.

Pete has coached and mentored numerous managers over the past 20 years and invariably enjoyed the experience, as well as receiving positive feedback. He gains significant satisfaction from seeing the improvements in performance achieved by those managers and feels he can generally empathise with them.

Pete endeavours to support SME managers so that they benefit from his experience in using effective structured techniques and people orientated approaches, as well as helping them avoid making many of the inevitable mistakes managers make when working alone and “learning on the job”. He also believes his 10 years of experience as a management trainer helps to effectively coach and mentor.

Pete has significant programme and project management experience in developing and implementing plans for business growth whilst continuing to ensure a viable business case exists. He considers one of his strengths is converting a vision or significant business objective into a viable plan with a justified business case.
