Summary
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, member of the BACP and an approved therapist for Anxiety Uk. I am a warm and friendly person with a humanistic approach and believe in nurturing the right environment for each individual to flourish. My sessions are tailored to suit your needs in a relaxed environment where you feel safe to explore any issues confidentially. I can explain the science behind common mental health issues and often incorporate setting goals to help make positive changes.
My areas of experience include social anxiety, low self-esteem, worry, panic, stress, work related stress, relationship issues, infertility problems, health anxiety, critical incident debriefing, bereavement, confidence issues, claustrophobia, post traumatic stress, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, drug dependency, alcohol dependency, loneliness, compulsive hoarding, chronic fatigue syndrome, ME, fibromyalgia and trauma.
I have worked with many client groups including medical staff, people with drug and alcohol dependency, ex-offenders, looked after children, homeless people, college and university students, people retuning to work, Employee Assistance Programmes and the military.
I incorporate evidence based practice during sessions, am trained in Mindfulness, have a Management degree from Manchester University and comply with the BACP ethical code of practice . I have 3 grown up children and originate from the Stockport area.
