Summary
My career in advertising started as a copywriter in 1997. I was drawn into it by viewing the revolutionary ad campaigns led by Bill Bernbach, creative director of the DDB agency in the USA. His Volkswagen ads in the 1960’s changed everything. As he said: “the truth isn’t the truth until people believe you, and they can’t believe you if they don’t know what you’re saying, and they can’t know what you’re saying if they don’t listen to you, and they won’t listen to you if you’re not interesting, and you won’t be interesting unless you say things imaginatively, originally, freshly”. And with the ever-reducing attention span online his words have even more impact today. Serious, progressive companies will illuminate their messages with powerful words. But with so many distractions on the internet customers’ concentration can be easily disrupted. That’s where animated explainer videos restore the balance. In just 90 seconds of stylish infographics and a stimulating voice over your potential customers will be refocused. But there is one element that decides everything. Emotion is what captivates customers. Explanation of your product or service with light-heartedness, even humour where appropriate, provides a relaxed perusal of what your clients are searching for. And nudges them comfortably into investigating the important details on your website. The production of your animation video will throughout involve your ideas of what you want to convey to your potential customers, with storyboarding sent to you for approval. And it will be competitively priced!
