During a varied career, David has gained a broad and well rounded view of general business practices, as well as the problems and challenges that businesses face.
He began his career by completing a traditional engineering apprenticeship with a world leading textile machinery manufacturer in Bolton. Two years after completing his apprenticeship he became self employed supplying skilled labour to various engineering concerns. He went on aged 26, to form his own company operating a general machine shop, building and repairing ancillary equipment for the paper manufacturing industry.
Having completed 18 years in engineering, David took up a new challenge and became a self employed sales/advisor with leading Financial service provider Allied Dunbar. Here he built a thriving practice with private and business clients, whilst also recruiting and training new advisors; eventually opening his own branch office and attaining senior branch manager status.
In 2002 he changed his career once more and joined, what was then, Ratcliffe & Co as a self employed consultant advising individuals and businesses on finance and insolvency procedures. He has worked extensively, building and training the advisor teams in the consumer and commercial insolvency departments of the group becoming a director of Unique Business Finance Ltd in February 2009.
