Summary
I am the Landscape Team Leader for our Leeds office, enjoying the role of Line Manager and CMLI Mentor for those I manage. I am an enthusiastic, Chartered, Technical Director with over 18 years of Landscape Design experience, working on a wide range of projects across both the public and private sectors.
I have extensive experience of the whole design process, from concept development, masterplanning and consultation, planning application, detailed design and specification, to overseeing hard and soft landscape schemes on site. I enjoy proving the role of Contract Administrator and Clerk of Works on multiple schemes. I have also worked as a Landscape Contractor, and as such, have a practical approach and detailed understanding of what is required to design and effectively project manage a scheme through to implementation on site (within time and on budget).
In my previous role at Atkins, I was the Northern Technical Lead in terms of Education landscapes. I continue to work on and actively pursue Education related work at Wardell Armstrong. Since 2011, I have been one of a handful of UK Accredited Learning Through Landscapes Landscape (LtL) Advisors and in 2021 undertook further training with LtL in relation to Transforming Learning. I have a passion for helping schools to take the curriculum outside of the formal classroom and have written and presented to national audiences on this topic and done and continue to do voluntary work to promote this cause.
At Wardell Armstrong, our National team of Landscape Architects (along with other in-house multidisciplinary specialists) work on a wide range of projects at all times, which I really enjoy.
