My favourite pastimes are going to a live classical concert and, if they were nearer, spending time with my grandchildren (all currently live in the USA). I and my partner are HUGE opera nuts and will travel anywhere to see it. We also love theatre, chamber concerts , walking and being with our friends, exploring cities and looking at art and architecture.

My ideal relaxation is spending time with a good book, listening to music and spending time in my garden. I also play the cello (when I have time).

We have 1 dog (large) and 2 cats. Walking the dog is a daily joy and keeping fit is important to me ( we don’t walk the cats!)

I have lost 2 stone recently and my clients are jealous but people tell me I should stop using my mobile to look at emails after dinner,

I support a number of charities have been a governor of The Manchester Grammar school for nearly 20 years and am taking a special interest in fundraising and celebrating the school's 500th anniversary in 2015.
