Woods Consulting Services Ltd provides product solutions to address the Health Safety & Environmental requirements of its clients. We provide a complete suite of products and services to ensure clients have a full conformance to the current Health Safety & Environmental legislation and thereby reduce their potential exposure to criticism and ultimately blame.
Included in the products we also provide full implement plans and the management services to introduce them in a user-friendly program either in enhancement with or replacement to existing solutions.
Going past the basic Health and Safety product we also continue the process and ultimately can provide a complete plan and implementation solution in enabling clients to achieve: -

• ISO EMS 14001 (Environmental Management Standards)
• Create performance criteria to measure the success of Health Safety & Environmental Management.
Health and Safety is with us all hours and as such we provide a 24 hour telephone support help line for our clients problems, developments or events. If required we can normally be on site within 48 hours of a requested call out.
Woods Consulting Services Ltd actively gets involved in many committees and working groups to discuss specific aspects. If clients require there problem discussing or representing then we have the experience to pragmatically solve the requirements either locally or if necessary with the governing bodies on behalf of our clients.
The prime aim in delivering our products to clients is to create a system that ensures that all staff members at all levels have an input into the Health and Safety Management, then they take this knowledge and skill and transfer it to other parts of the company, thereby providing a much safer consistent working environment

Health & Safety policy development- It is a legal requirement that companies that employ 5 or more employees must have a written health and safety policy. Unlike other companies we develop and tailor the policy and procedures to the company rather than providing an off the shelf document which has no bearing on a company’s activities. We believe that this assists the company in the implementation of the policy and develops a safer working environment and culture by utilising a common sense approach to the health and safety regulations. We believe that the document require time to develop with the company and requires auditing and measuring on a regular basis to ensure compliance within the company and to make necessary changes where the company systems require changing and development.
A typical policy document requires the following;

• Organisation

The statement shall show how the company will control health and safety through its operations. The organisational structure will set out who is responsible for the functions within the company. The procedures will show how the company will control areas of risk within its activities as required under current regulations.
Health and Safety Advisory Service– To act as your Health and Safety Advisor for companies and organisations as required under The Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999 which require employers to appoint a competent person(s) for health and safety advice. In many organisations it is sometimes difficult to fill this position internally. As part of our Competent Person service we assist to fill this skills gap.
Health and Safety Audit – A systematic check of your policies, procedures and controls - checking compliance, hazards and unsafe acts or conditions. This involves a comprehensive ‘walk-through’ survey, a critical review of documentation and management controls. Confidential reports are provided considering the findings with advice, guidance and an action plan. The intention of the audit is to bring the company up to speed with Health and Safety Regulations and good industry practice.
Health and Safety Audit or Review (diagnostic) - We will carry out a comprehensive health and safety audit or review of your premises and management systems including 'walk-through' survey of your site. You will then receive a report with recommendations (Health and Safety Plan) to assist you with compliance and improve your management of health and safety.
Policy – The drafting of your bespoke company Health and Safety policy and arrangements manual specific to your organisation.
Risk Assessment – Assisting companies and organisations with their risk assessment programme. This involves taking the organisation through the process of hazard identification. Organisations are provided with all the tools and the necessary documentation to comprehensively cover their risk assessment programme.
Specific Risk Assessment – Assisting organisations with specific assessments where necessary e.g. Manual handling, Display Screen Equipment (DSE), COSHH, PPE, Noise, Young Workers, Pregnant Workers, Fire, PUWER (Work Equipment), and specific projects or other tasks.
Management Systems - We can assist your organisation with implementing management system standards for health and safety management (OHSAS 18001) and environmental management (ISO 14001).
Asbestos – Assisting your organisation with compliance regarding the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (particularly Regulation 4 duty to manage)
• Type, 1,2,3 Surveys and report to MDHS100
• Drafting of asbestos register (usually with type 1 survey included)
• Asbestos management plan - Or a combination
