Summary
My name is Rosie Frost and I am currently starting a business called 'Here To Adult' which aims to bridge the gap between education and adulthood by creating a programme of workshops, designed to teach young adults the vital skills they will need to move into adulthood successfully. We will teach 6 workshops over the course of the school year (1 per half term). The workshops will focus on mental health, money management, finances, professionalism, healthy relationships and consent and home skills.
I, myself, trained and worked as a Primary School Teacher and loved the teaching aspect and working with children, enhancing their education. However, due to curriculum demands, much of being a 'teacher' does not require teaching. Hence, why I decided to start a business designed to support teachers who are stressed and overworked, feeling like they cannot get the most out of their students because there isn't enough time or, the curriculum does not 'allow' it within the time constraints of academic achievement. My business aims to teach these young adults the vital skills they needs, whilst working closely with educational establishements, taking the stress off the teachers.
