Here’s a list of 12 amazing travel ideas—one for each month—to inspire your next adventure.

January: Myanmar
Kick off the year by visiting Myanmar, an enchanting country known for its ancient temples and stunning landscapes. Bagan, recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a highlight, with its thousands of temples stretching across the plains. Coron is a personal favourite, known for its idyllic island-hopping tours, crystal-clear waters, and stunning landscapes. March: North Vietnam
Vietnam's climate varies dramatically depending on where you are, so March is an excellent time to explore the northern part of the country. Visit Hanoi, famous for its rich history, or take a boat tour of Halong Bay’s dramatic limestone karsts. Other must-see sights include the Phong Nha caves and the UNESCO World Heritage city of Hoi An, with its charming lantern-lit streets. If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring the countryside of southern France, May is the ideal time to visit Périgord Noir. The sight of hundreds of elephants moving majestically across the plains and lions lounging in the trees in Amboseli left an indelible mark on my heart. July: Latvian Classical Music Festivals
For classical music lovers, July is the ideal time to visit Latvia, home to two incredible music festivals. The early music festival in mid-July culminates at the stunning Rundāle Palace, while the Riga Jurmala Festival brings top international talent to the Baltic coast. After enjoying the festivals, take some time to explore the historic city of Riga and the beautiful summer beach town of Jurmala.

August: Lofoten Islands, Norway
August is a wonderful time to visit Norway’s Lofoten Islands, located above the Arctic Circle. With its jaw-dropping landscapes, this region is a haven for nature lovers. Hike to the top of Reinebringen for sweeping views, or enjoy the charming fishing villages. August is perfect for exploring Lofoten as it’s less crowded than July, offering a more serene experience.

September: Yellowstone National Park, USA
For breathtaking natural beauty and unforgettable wildlife encounters, head to Yellowstone National Park in September. With stunning geothermal features like the Grand Prismatic Spring and Old Faithful, as well as the chance to see bison, elk, and bears in the wild, Yellowstone is a dream for nature enthusiasts. November: Colombia
November is an excellent time to explore Colombia, a country that’s rich in history and natural beauty. I had the pleasure of visiting Bogotá, Cartagena, and Salento, but the highlight was undoubtedly my trip to Caño Cristales, known as the "River of Five Colours." This stunning river, with its vibrant hues, is a natural wonder you won’t want to miss. November is the best time to visit, as it’s when the endemic Vellozia plants bloom, adding even more beauty to this magical place.

December: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
If you are looking to escape the winter chill, December is the perfect time to visit Abu Dhabi. With cooler temperatures and fewer tourists, you can fully enjoy the city’s many attractions. My personal highlight was visiting the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a true architectural marvel. I also loved experiencing a desert tour and spending the night in an Arabian-style village, where you can get a taste of local culture and traditions.
