Whilst I was thinking of something to post today, I’ve just heard the very sad news that Meatloaf (Marvin Lee Aday) died earlier today (at the age of 74).
When I was at City University in London, they organised a wine and cheese evening almost every week, and invited guests to come along and perform for us poor students. Meatloaf kindly agreed (for free wine and cheese, why wouldn't he?), and gave an amazing performance to about 50 of us - it was like a private MTV-unplugged party
Sadly, we didn’t usually know in advance who the guest would be (plus this was in 1977, just before Bat Out of Hell was released, so he was comparatively unknown back then), so I didn’t have my camera with me – and I can’t remember who else was in the small band supporting him.
The most relevant of my photos that I can find to post here is of Sax Gordon, who gave an amazing performance at the Dubai Jazz Garden Concert on 16th February 2013 (sponsored by my client, Toyota).
