Welcome to ecommerce marketing strategies and why Facebook ads in 2022 put your store at risk!!
In this latest article, I’m going to discuss why Facebook (albeit the number one social media platform for helping you to scale your e-commerce business) could put your ecommerce business at great risk in 2022.
Why?
Facebook Ads On The Rise As We Progress Out Of The Pandemic.
The cost of Facebook ads went down at the beginning of the pandemic as Facebook tried to encourage businesses to get back on the platform and to continue advertising.
But as we come out of the pandemic, Facebook are now increasing the price of the advertising.
This brings more challenges for everybody in the e-commerce industry because Facebook knows the increasing popularity of people starting ecommerce businesses.
A second issue with Facebook Ads, is that people are not actively looking to buy on Facebook, instead, they want to connect with people in their social group or find out the latest gossip.
Therefore, the best and most common strategy is retargeting ads.
Retargeting ads is when you advertise towards a cold audience. (i.e those who don’t know your brand)
You then follow up with a second ad, targeting people who showed an interest in the first advertisement.
This is a hard strategy to master and takes huge investment to shortcut what captures the attention of your audience.
So, should you abandon Facebook Completely?
No!! but you need to utilise free traffic sources to put your ecommerce products in front of red-hot buyers.
The best way to scale a business is by reducing your advertising costs and increasing the number of products that you sell in your e-commerce business.
That’s why I Suggest Using the google carousel in combination with YouTube.
To explain this better, I’ve recorded a video on YouTube, where I explain how you put your business in front of people actively searching for your products.
