Collins and Darwell Printers Ltd is a business that is 130 years old and it has not always easy ensuring that sales keep coming and that we keep customers happy. At this time we used cold calling as a method of attempting to gain sales but it was a tough job! In October 2013 we ventured out to our first Expo at Wigan. This was something we had never done before and it was totallly alien to us, however, nothing ventured nothing gained! It was a great day which totally motivated our sales staff and we came away with bags of business cards and lots of goodies!
In the months ahead we followed up on all our leads and realised that we were actually converting the leads into jobs, in total we gained 6 new customers and realised that this was the way forward for our business. It was around January 2014 that we started looking at what other Expos were available and we realised that Leigh (our hometown didn't have one) we decided we change that and started planning it for the summer. July 12th was the date set and 70 stands were booked, local dignatories invited, seminars booked and a mass marketing campaign started to bring the visitors in.
The day of the Expo came round and the day proved to be a massive success with over 500 visitors and 98% of people said they were glad they exhbited and would do so again.

Exhibiting at Wigan Expo was a risk but one that pushed the sales forward within our business and changed the way we gain new customers.
