When you’re in the process of learning a second language, one of the first things you learn is the numbers in Spanish. This is one of the building blocks of the language because once you can count, you will be able to quantify, which is something we often do when we communicate.
Now, numbers are infinite and when you’re learning how to count in Spanish, it’s best to start small. That’s why today we will show you how to count from 1 to 10 in Spanish! Once you master this, you can learn more Spanish numbers and start making more and more complex combinations.
If you want to learn how to count from 1 to 10 in Spanish, this infographic will come in handy. We provided an example for each Spanish number, so you can use the sentences to practice and create new ones until you’ve memorised the numbers.

You want to start your learning process by memorising 5 numbers in Spanish first. Then, you can learn 5 more and so on until you’re able to count big numbers.
Splitting the numbers in Spanish into manageable chunks will make your learning experience a lot more effective and a lot less frustrating! So, use the infographic and count from 1 to 5 repeatedly.
Say the numbers over and over until you’ve committed them to memory. Then, you can create a few sentences using the numbers, like the ones we provided in the infographic. Once you feel you have these 5 numbers down, you can move on.
Once again, practice and repetition are what will help you commit the numbers in Spanish to memory. So, say them out loud over and over until you feel comfortable with the pronunciation.
Then, create sentences with each number and practice them for as long as you need. Don’t move on from one group of numbers to the other until you feel confident you can remember them correctly.

Learning the Basic Numbers in Spanish
Once you’ve mastered both sets of numbers in Spanish, you can put them all together. Instead of saying them separately, count from 1 to 10 in Spanish without stopping.
Do this repeatedly until you feel comfortable and it becomes automatic. Of course, this is not going to happen in a single session. It will take a little bit of time, but if you practice every day, you will master the numbers in Spanish in no time.
Counting from 1 to 10 in Spanish doesn’t have to be boring! You can do it while you’re going about your day. Count books, trees, ingredients while you’re cooking, or your own fingers and toes! Heck, you can even count Netflix titles while you’re browsing to find something to watch (preferably in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles). Soon enough, it will become second nature!
