In April 2016 Karen from Garden Aspects Ltd (now referred to as 'GA') came to 08UK to enquire about getting some new virtual 01 numbers so that their business could track calls from particular local areas. At that point GA were also already using a 0845 supplied by TalkTalk.
Specific Details Charges / Costs
Previous to the conversation with 08UK, GA had one 0845 number with TalkTalk. Indeed TalkTalk were the originating range holder and the service was being supplied & billed directly by TalkTalk. Strangely TalkTalk were charging a nominal 0.7p/minute for the 0845 calls received that were routed to a UK landline. Our 0845 service is totally free, so that charge was removed.
Whilst GA were not paying any rental and only a nominal rate/minute for their 0845 service number, crucially negatively the actual TalkTalk bill only gave them an itemised bill for the terminating destination number yet did not show them the callers number. There were no details of which number had dialled the virtual 0845 number at all, nor did TalkTalk provide any CDR stats to show this.
GA obviously needed to identify and record where the calls were coming from on their main office 0845 and also needed the new 01 numbers to route calls from certain areas to the same office landline. 08UK issued GA with the required 01 numbers without any rental per number per month. All their chargeable 01 numbers were covered by our minimum £15 per month charge, fully allocated to a bundle of minutes plus we also signed GA under a rolling 30 day contract.
Overall Outcome
We provided a new list of virtual 01 numbers as required for each area requested by Karen and we seamlessly ported over their existing 0845 number to us too, so all the operated numbers services were kept together.
By issuing Garden Aspects Ltd with several 01 numbers the business was able to boost their local presence for commercial/advertising purposes. The need to track the call stats from the callers to identify the market place/area was also then resolved. Overall these steps have made Garden Aspects Ltd more attractive to their customers and the transition from their existing provider to ourselves was smooth without any disruption to their existing service levels and business requirements.
