SIEM
Yet another acronym to grace the IT world and to be fair this one has been around for some time but with the advent of the new ISO 27001 standard it has moved up the ladder and is now becoming very important, if not expensive, for your business data security. Having access to SIEM generated data is now a part of the new standard.
So what’s a SIEM?
A SIEM is a Security Information and Event Management system.
And?
Implementing an ISO-27001-compliant ISMS means implementing strict access control measures to upkeep the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data. Organizations need to record and regularly review event logs, protect them from unauthorized access, and ensure secure logon procedures are followed.
A SIEM will allow secure management of this sensitive data.
