SEED (Support and Education for Eating Disorders) will host their annual fashion show on Saturday 13th October at the Atrium, UCLan, Preston, from 7 pm until late. This is a night of dance, music and fashion to promote positive self-esteem and body image during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Over 20 stunning male and female models are taking part in the show with a range of fashions from independent North West designers, local stores and boutiques, online retailers, vintage and pre-loved outfits. Some of the organisations involved include Lush, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Miss Fit UK, Stella Dot Jewellery, With a Twist, Charlie Ann Wright, Vintage Jewels, Mary and Milly, West Coast, Out of the City, Gap Outlet, Amabo, Temptation, Pretty Disturbia, My Vintage, Manor Drive, Mundi Fashion, Sidnie Co Couture, Yoly Romero, Strictly Dancing and Cliché Model Management.
We are delighted to confirm that the fantastic rock band Black Mamba (http://www.blackmambauk.com/) will be playing live throughout the event, as will acoustic soul singer Daisy (http://www.daisylivemusic.co.uk/).
There will be fantastic prizes available on the evening including a private 4-course catered dinner party for 6 people from Haydens Kitchen (http://haydenskitchen.co.uk), a weekend ‘glamping’ at Stanley Villa Farm Camping with campfire and marshmallows included! World Mental Health Day is held each year to raise public awareness about mental health issues worldwide. The aim is to get us all talking openly about mental illness and the treatment and preventions that are available to us all.
SEED was founded in 2007 by ex sufferer and experienced mental health nurse and specialist practitioner in eating disorders and is run by a dedicated team of trained volunteers. SEED gained charitable status in November 2011 and remains reliant on volunteer time/effort, donations and small grants to deliver its aims. SEED is dedicated to raising awareness about eating disorders in Lancashire by providing information, resources, education, training, and support for everyone affected by eating disorders and/or working with eating disorders.
